The Newton Teachers Association announced that the strike is over, and an agreement has been made.
The teachers will be receiving a 13% cost of living increase over 4 years. This is equivalent to 3.25% a year. Considering that inflation is at 4% a year regularly, this is kind of a bad deal.
According to Investopedia "The annual inflation rate was 7.0% in Dec. 2021 and 6.5% at the end of 2022."
This took 11 nights of standing in the grueling cold, and unfortunately it doesn't seem like a huge difference was made.
